58 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2024 | We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and that the New Year will be safe and wonderful for everyone. Our last rally of the year was to Emerald Desert (Palm Desert) just after Thanksgiving. I understand that the rally was a lot of fun, even though there were only 26 participants. Games of Bocce Ball, Corn Hole, and horse races were played along with the guys playing poker one night. The girls had a girls day away from the campground. A trip to La Quinta for wine tasting was in order. I also understand one night of Happy Hour occurred, where those that were camping dressed as doctors and nurses. Sounds like fun was had by all. Don't forget our Home Club Rally is Jan. 20-21 in the South Clubhouse. Our annual trip to Fortuna de Oro is set for March 10-17. I know the spaces were filling up, but you may still be able to join the group. This has been a fun filled trip, so hope to see you there. It's from April 28 through May 3, 2024. Trail bosses are Dave and Pat Puckett. They still need a committee, so don't be bashful. The Zion trip is set for Sept. 22-27. Still need trail bosses. There is a pre-trip month long trip planned ending up with the club in Zion. If you're interested in joining those headed out before the Zion trip, contact Richard Fetterman at (802) 324-3068. A reminder that you do not need an RV to join the RV Club. Most of the campgrounds we go to have cottages that can be rented. Membership fees are $12 for a single person, and $25 for a couple.
