8 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2024 | The Master Board of Directors (MBD) has put considerable thought and effort into the revision of the SLCC mission statement dated July 13, 2022 to underscore their commitment to implement a governance policy model of leadership for our community. All governance policies and processes will be designed to align and support the business decisions made by the MBD. The MBD will ensure they are carefully crafted to uphold the principles outlined in the Mission/Vision statement below: Mission Statement: Sun Lakes Country Club HOA exists to preserve and enhance the lifestyle, quality of life, sense of community, and financial security for the benefit of its members. Vision Statement: The Sun Lakes Country Club HOA Master Board of Directors will apply prudent, effective, and efficient governance to achieve the following: • Maintain quality of life and sense of community. • Maximize property values. • Optimize community amenities. • Encourage community awareness and participation. • Continuous improvement of our financial position. This will be achieved by effective governance and judicious evaluation of initiatives and reserve/capital improvement spending as dictated by changing demographics and prevailing economic conditions while keeping member costs in alignment with budgetary guidelines. The Organization Process Analysis (OPA) task force has completed their interviews with the advisory committees and sub-associations. We would like to express our gratitude to all the individuals who generously dedicated their time and shared their insights about their respective activities. Their contributions enabled us to present a comprehensive set of documents and information to Ms. Karen Conlon in support of her consulting contract with the MBD to develop governance policy. The goal is to finalize the OPA project plan by mid-January, which will include FirstService's role and participation in the project. Our target remains to achieve 80 percent project completion and gain MBD approval in advance of the next election cycle scheduled for March-April 2024. Stay tuned for upcoming project update articles appearing in Lifestyles. If you have any questions about the OPA project, don't hesitate to reach out to either the MBD or the OPA task force team.
