It's that time of the year to let you know about the upcoming election. We have an upcoming election to fill two seats for 2024 through 2026. To qualify, you must complete a candidate statement form and return by due date per page five of Election Rules due by Feb. 22, 2024, at 5 pm. Candidate's Statement. Completed candidate nomination forms may also include a candidate's statement of 250 words or less, indicating that the candidate has decided to submit a statement. The Association shall distribute candidate statements as submitted and is not responsible for the content of any candidate statement submitted. If photographs are to be included, then equally sized photographs should be used for each candidate. Result of Failure to Comply. Candidates/nominees not timely applying during the nomination period will not be included on the ballot. Candidates/nominees exceeding the length limit on their candidate statement will have the portion of their statement deleted from the 251st word through the end. Self-nominations. A Member may nominate themselves, so long as the member meets the qualifications to serve as a Director. Acknowledgment of Nomination. The Association shall provide a written or electronic communication to the nominator within seven business days of receiving a nomination which acknowledges the Member's nomination, and to the nominated Member informing them of their nomination and their eligibility or their ineligibility (and the reason for ineligibility). Nominating Committee. As there is no function for a Nominating Committee under current law, the board will not appoint a Nominating Committee. Nominations from the Floor; Write-in Candidates. Nominations from the floor or write-in candidates are not permitted. Only nominees who are eligible and were nominated by timely submitted nomination/application shall be on the ballot. NOTICE OF MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS AND ELECTIONS For meetings with elections requiring the secret ballot process, the Association shall provide general notice of all the following at least 30 days before the ballots are distributed: A. The date and time by which, and the physical address where, ballots are to be returned by mail or handed to the inspector or inspectors of elections, B. The date, time, and location of the meeting at which ballots will be counted, C. The list of all candidates' names that will appear on the ballot. Please consider running for HOA Board of Directors.
