28 | OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2024 | Music Lovers Hello to all our members and other music lovers from around our community. We are so excited that our Musical Variety Show is coming up on Feb. 3 and 4. There are still seats left at both performances, so you can still get yours and even purchase more for your friends and family and neighbors. It's such a good show it's worth seeing twice. Tickets are $15 and this is our club's annual fundraiser. The proceeds will go to bringing more music to our community in the form of concerts and performances by various artists, both local and from afar. It will also allow us to be able to continue having great fun at our annual dinner, Villagers Concerts, Karaoke Nights, and Coffee House Mondays, most of which are open and free to all in our community. We appreciate your support. The acts in our show are ones you have never seen before. We want to showcase the talent of our community in a whole new way. Our list of performers include Sheri McMurry, Tim Griffin, Brad Davidson, Janie Arens, Harvey Bernstein, Mike Cea, Beverly Taylor, Lawrence Aiken, Donnalee Singer, Taka Stephens, Larry Bean, Lynn Wheeler, Bin Crow, Fran Stephens, and me. There are dancers, vocalists, and musicians that will be performing solos, duets and accompanying others. And our MC is none other than comedian Morey Sherman who will keep you laughing from start to finish. At this writing we're not sure we will be able to have a recording of our show to be shown on our OHCC channel in the future. AV is low on volunteers (did you know they have training for new volunteers almost every week on Wednesdays?) and while they have graciously given us their full support to our club for rehearsals, and the two performances, they need as many volunteers as possible to man the lights, cameras, and sound. The board which records the actual performance is manned by AV members that are specially trained for the job and there are not many of them available. I recommend that you come to a live show to make sure you get to enjoy the wonderful performances of our cast. The Musical Variety Show is Feb. 3 at 7 pm and Feb. 4 at 2 pm. Don't miss it! Do Dues Day was a huge success, and we want to welcome both our returning members as well as our brand-new members, to our club's second year. We are looking forward to a fabulous 2024!
