40 | OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2024 | February is the month of Valentine's Day, and Bingo will be on Feb. 17 this year. January also saw another change in Bingo you may have noticed. We are now selling not only "The Usual" six game card, but we introduced the "All New" nine game card, for $15. For those of you that need a little extra challenge give the "All New" card a try. If you were not aware, let me tell you now, that May is the month long 40th Anniversary Celebration of OHCC. Clubs that meet monthly will have special activities and festivities. Bingo is no exception. In the coming months I will give you a few glimpses of what we are planning. It will be exciting, so mark your calendar for May 11 and join us for the 40th Anniversary celebration. Also, since it is 40 years since our community's inception, I thought I would go back in time with a little bit of history. Coming next month, "What's in a name - Ocean Hills Country Club AKA Leisure World." The articles for OHCC Living are written a month in advance of printing and so sometimes it feels like I am always trying to catch up. This year during our winter break, Bingo reached out to the wider community and asked for sponsors to support our Ice Cream Intermission. The response was amazing to say the least. January 2024 was subsidized by Zoraya De La Bastida. Zoraya came to us in 2023 and wanted to be an ice cream sponsor. Nobody had ever come to us before requesting to support us in this way. Surprised and happy, we accepted her gracious support. Zoraya has been selling real estate for over 25 years. She holds a BS in Civil Engineering as well as an MBA in both Finance and Business Administration. Zoraya's true passion is to connect one-on-one with folks in her immediate community. We thank her as our original sponsor and continue to work with her. February 17th's Bingo Ice Cream Intermission will be sponsored by Andrea Anderson. Andrea has been selling real estate locally for about 10 years. Prior to that she was an Air Traffic Control Manager for over 25 years. Andrea is "Giving Back to Humanity – One House at a Time." She is a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, as well as the Global Village organization. As an international volunteer, Andrea has helped build homes hands-on in Paraguay, Guatemala, India, and Vietnam.
