FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2024 13
DID YOU KNOW?
DID YOU KNOW jigsaw puzzles are stashed in the Lobby
for you to borrow and return? They are located in the chest of
drawers flanking both sides of the fireplace. Happy puzzling!
DID YOU KNOW you get an extra day this year? Look at
it like a gift from the universe. Don't do regular Thursday
stuff on Feb. 29 — make it count! Do something out of your
normal routine. Spoil yourself with a spa day, call a friend
you haven't talked to in a while, or learn something new at the
University of YouTube. Make it special. Make this leap day the
day you are a better, bigger, fancier you. Or take a nap at 11
am and catch up on your favorite shows while eating popcorn
from a bowl on your belly. The universe wraps gifts in all sorts
of paper.
DID YOU KNOW people born on Feb. 29 are called
'leaplings'? The chances of being born on leap day are so rare that
less than 0.1 percent of the world's population is born on Feb. 29!
Dinah Shore was the only one I recognized on the list who, while
taking 88 rides around the sun, died at the "age" of 22. During non-
leap years, leaplings can celebrate their
birthdays on Feb. 28 or March 1 — or
really anytime they feel like it — but in
the eyes of the law, a leapling's birthday
is recognized as March 1. This is good
news and means they don't have to
wait until they're 248 to collect Social
Security.
