FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2024 31 Social Committee What a way to end the year! The Roaring 20s New Year's Eve Party was a blast! Tony, the D.J., did a wonderful job keeping everyone moving and grooving. Thank you to all the contestants for the Karaoke contest. Congratulations to Rick Hand on his win! For our first event of the year, we have a Celine Dion, Cher, and Neil Diamond tribute show. Tickets for "Songs From The Heart" are on sale and are $30 each. The show starts at 6 pm; doors open at 5:15 pm. Bring your favorite food and beverage. Wear your favorite costume of Celine, Cher, or Neil as there will be a contest for the best costume. Don't forget to bring extra money for raffle tickets. The raffle tickets are our fundraiser to help fund the next event. Special thanks to D.J. Dave who will be ending the evening with music that will make you get up and dance. The Social Committee appreciates your attendance and continued support. Do not miss out on a great night of entertainment! ~ Lisa Johnson, lisajohnson710@gmail.com (714) 322-8877 Landscape Committee We, the members of the Landscape Committee, resumed our weekly walks in January. Shannon, one of our FirstService representatives, has prepared a walk schedule for the entire year. We will strive mightily to hold to this schedule as it will permit us to observe and inspect all of the landscape for which we're responsible twice during the year. The committee has the responsibility for the landscape of the front yards of all 566 homes located in the Front Yard Cost Center (FYCC). Homes in the FYCC were built in the early years of the community and are located near The Lodge. The committee oversees Park West tasks including lawn mowing, watering, and tree maintenance. The committee also maintains the front yard planting beds except when the resident has elected to perform this activity by becoming a "Green Leaf " home. In addition to the FYCC homes, the committee maintains the landscaping at the three community centers — The Lodge, The Summit, and The Courts — as well as the planting in the pocket parks and the Paseo, a wonderful park set in the middle of the FYCC homes. We are also responsible for maintenance of other community properties including the parkways along Four Seasons Circle and numerous small plots scattered throughout the community. We can only observe all these areas on foot as vehicle travel could cause us to miss items requiring renovation or replacement. Residents are welcome to attend our monthly meetings at 1 pm on the third Tuesday of the week in the RCN Conference Room and our weekly walks that start at 8 am during the current season of the year. ~ Kirk Freyermuth, kafreyer@frontier.com
