Welcome February! This is the month of Aquarius and Pisces birthdays and it is the last month of winter. It is also the shortest month of the year, even though this year is Leap Year. We are well into our winter hours, which means that we begin playing shuffleboard at 9 am on Monday and Saturday mornings. So come out for some fresh air and socialization and play some shuffleboard with us. We play at the new shuffleboard courts at The Lodge, where we enjoy our own quiet and somewhat private area. Shuffleboard is an easy game to learn and anyone can quickly become proficient at this game. Our games usually last about an hour and we choose up different teams each time we play. This allows us to keep the competition challenging and the games more interesting. We play for fun, but of course, everyone likes to win. We have no losers, only non-winners. We have a great group of residents who play regularly, but we are always looking for new players. So if anyone is interested in joining a fun activity with lots of friendly people, please just show up on Monday and/or Saturday morning before 9 am. We will give you an introduction to shuffleboard if you have never played before, or a refresher, if needed. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Make 2024 the year to come on down to the Billiards Room and check out the BFFG. We meet on Tuesdays; the first session is from 11 am to 1 pm and the second session is from 1 to 3 pm. We had our fourth quarterly tournament on Dec. 1. As always, the play is friendly but also competitive. Congratulations to the winners (at right). We play once a week on Mondays at 11 am and continue until 1 pm in the Billiards Room at The Lodge. Come on down and start your Mondays with a fun group of ladies playing pool. We enjoy playing 8 Ball, Scotch Doubles, and 9 Ball. You don't have to be the best player, just a player who wants to improve your game in a more competitive setting. The Wild Bunch consists of some of the best players in the league, and we are always looking for great competition. Some of these players are Joe Spinella, Bob Rector, Paul Snyder, Mike Fisher, Dave Anderson, Scott Frymire, Dave Martin, Gary Condurucci, Brad Hodge, Verina Rector, and Gracy Luna, just to name a few. If you want to play competitive pool, we invite you to come by the Billiards Room on Friday afternoons from 12:30 to 3:30 pm and join in the stimulation of competitive play.
