The main parts of an essay are the introduction, the body, and the conclusion. You may have heard the guidance attributed to a preacher whose sermons were very popular: "First, I tell them what I am going to tell them, then I tell them, and then I tell them what I told them." The introduction of an essay states the main idea, or thesis, of the essay. The body develops evidence and arguments in support of the thesis. The conclusion summarizes the main points and why the thesis is important. You will find this very stimulating. | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2024 | 37 December had no meeting. It's a chance to be with our families. But the very serious business of creating, admiring, and learning how our imagination can turn into beautiful art is back at hand. Art comes in all textures, materials and creations. Did you create something completely different for Christmas? Bring it to the next meeting. We all love to see something new and different. Pictures can also be shared. We art fans are always looking for our next inspiration. The months have overlapped and I have no mini art show information. However, next month's article may feature two mini art show features. In the meantime, I would love to provide some interesting history. The Kiss is undoubtedly one of the most iconic works of the 20th century, familiar to most. What you might not know are the stories about the painter and how this piece of art came to be. Gustav Klimt was an Austrian symbolist painter (1862 - 1918) who wore muu-muus with nothing underneath! His art studio was overrun with cats and his obsession with them actually led him to cover the pages of his sketchbooks with cat urine believing it was the best fixative available. The odor was unfortunately bad and also destroyed works that would likely be worth millions today. Our next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 20 and will feature our demo artist, Suni Godbold, who always brings new and exciting tips and tricks into the world of watercolor painting. Meet us at South Clubhouse at 2 pm. Additionally, his classes are scheduled for Mondays from 9 am to 12 pm, on Feb. 12, 19, and 26.
