The meeting is tentatively set for Thurs., April 24. This is where four Directors will be elected, each for a two-year term. The first step in this process began several months ago. A Notice of Nominating Procedures and Candidate Resumes were sent out to all owners in November. A final "reminder" will be sent out in February. This information outlines qualifications to be a candidate on the Board of Directors. For any owners who are interested in serving on the Board of Directors and who meet those qualifications, please fill out the resume and return it by the deadline indicated on the form (Feb. 19 at 5 pm). Please take note that serving on the Board requires a two-year commitment. Whether you choose to volunteer to serve on the Board of Directors or not, it is very important to exercise your rights and vote. When the notice and ballots are mailed out next month, please fill out the ballot and return it to The Lodge per the instructions. Maintenance & Violations: Your community celebrated its 20th Anniversary. As the years have gone by, regularly scheduled preventative maintenance performed throughout the common areas and The Lodge by our committee volunteers and contracted vendors has increased and the results of their efforts are evident. One of the things that sets Four Seasons apart from other communities is the commitment made by our many committees. • The common area landscaping is regularly monitored by members of the Landscape Committee. • The Lodge, recreation facility, streets, and gatehouses are monitored by the Facilities Committee. Each month, two committee members perform a visual inspection of those areas. A report is provided at their twice monthly meetings listing any items needing correction. Their report is forwarded to the management team who then directs the vendors accordingly. • Access and traffic control issues are overseen by our Access Control Committee. They also work closely with the security company in monitoring the activity and keeping the Post Orders up to date. • The Architectural Review Committee is another very important part of this community. They are responsible for working with residents who are improving their front yard landscaping, installing solar panels or repainting their homes. As the common areas are regularly inspected, your homes require "regular inspections" too! Please take a good look at the outside of your home, especially the south facing side. Look at your shutters, trim and garage door for fading, chalkiness or paint peeling. Please take a proactive approach so the costs to copy and mail out courtesy letters is minimized. May all of you have a Happy Valentine's Day! In the month of February we celebrate American Heart Health Awareness Month and Black History Month. There are many risk factors related to heart disease and many steps you can take to reduce your risk of a heart attack. Risk factors include, but are not limited to, diabetes, obesity and being overweight, hypertension, high cholesterol, and cigarette smoking. Some of the steps you can take to prevent heart disease include eating a healthy diet (increase fresh fruits and vegetables and lower salt intake), maintaining a healthy weight, exercising, quitting smoking, and limiting alcohol intake. February is particularly relevant as Black History Month because the African American community faces a higher risk of heart disease. For instance, in 2019 African Americans were 30 percent more likely to die from heart disease than non-Hispanic whites.
