| THE COLONY NEWS | FEBRUARY 2024 | 11 ACCESS CONTROL & SAFETY By Kathleen Ricketts Follow the Arrows! It has now been some time since the Clubhouse parking lot near the tennis courts was updated. Angled parking spaces replaced the old head-in parking in that location. is was done to make it easier for drivers to park their vehicles, large or small. When the revamping was done, arrows were painted in the roadway in that area to guide drivers in the way to exit. e proper way of exiting those spaces is to back out and proceed up towards the Clubhouse. is was done to ease the traffic flow for drivers entering and exiting the parking lot. Unfortunately, many drivers continue to leave their parking spot, make a U-turn and drive down, away from the Clubhouse towards Colony Drive. is slows the traffic flow into the parking lot and causes a hazardous situation for other drivers and pedestrians. Just a gentle reminder: If you follow the arrows, you will circle around the parking lot with ease while exiting the parking lot. is applies to all vehicles, including golf carts. Be safe; follow the arrows. At our Jan. 2 meeting, we set committee goals for the upcoming year. 1. Review our paint book. We discussed making a few changes regarding stucco colors. We will be meeting with a paint company representative to learn more about HOA painting options. 2. We continue to discuss and work on outdoor lighting. Nothing has been finalized. 3. Please continue to prepare your home exteriors for the El NiƱo rains by looking for the beginnings of rust on wrought iron and for bare, exposed wood that may need a touch up. 4. We will continue home inspections in February. ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL By Gloria Brosky
