Santa Stops at the Colony By Valorie Hillerich
Colony Members helped the Murrieta Salvation Army at Stater Brothers in December. All funds contributed support people in need
in the local Murrieta Corps Service Area
In December, e Colony got a special visit from Santa himself. Following a Murrieta Police escort, Santa emerged from his
tricked-out trolley to Deck the Halls. According to my source (Mrs. Santa), Santa has been bringing these joyful visits to e City
of Murrieta since 1994. It's "all hands on deck" for the many volunteers to make it happen.
at evening, photos were taken, carols were sung, and toys and canned foods were collected from our generous Colony residents
to be donated to a variety of local charities. When asked how she would sum up the evening, Gretchen Sedlacek, one of the many
volunteers, told me, "It's just magical. Santa Stops are part of what makes Murrieta so special."
