As your Board President, I seek your support to ensure SLCC remains a premier retirement community in California. A proud Pennsylvania native, and a U.S. Army veteran, I used the GI Bill to graduate with honors from UCR before retiring from a 30-year career with the Riverside Probation Department. My 50-year marriage to Michele has blessed us with four children, 14 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Aer losing our home in the 2003 fires, we moved to Sun Lakes. is tragedy turned into an absolute blessing! Over the past 21 years I have had the honor of serving our wonderful community as Marketing Committee co-chair, and president of tennis, golf and YAH clubs. I've also dedicated four years on the Master Board, two of which were as President. I resolve to thoroughly investigate and review all board decisions and always do what is best for our community. Professional Experience • VP of Service Employees International Union Riverside Chapter (7,000+ members) • Eight years Commissioner (two as chair) for Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Commission • Grant writer for Riverside County Probation • Managed Riverside County Juvenile Halls (100+ employees) As a Board member • Proposed and supported the Replenishment Assessment Fee • Completed the pickleball sports complex • Recommended the lounge expansion using Capital Improvement funds to reduce F&B losses • Supported the governance policy model to improve FSR accountability • Completed Sandwedge Bar & Grill renovation • Upgraded the main ballroom carpeting and chairs • Successfully re-negotiated major contracts with substantial savings (FSR, landscaping, Securitas) • Implemented "Message to Management" to enhance communication and accountability If re-elected I will • Maintain and enhance our beautiful golf courses/keeping them private • Focus on improving Restaurant/Sandwedge operations • Continue to ensure the safety of our community • Balance the budget while enhancing our amenities without excessive HOA increases • As a Pass Action member, strongly oppose Banning Pointe and Sunset Crossroads Projects For the second year in a row this Board has implemented many community improvements while remaining under budget.
