Hello friends! At our January meeting, we were provided with two informative presentations from two members on our Community Awareness Committee. Mike Mendoza provided important information on the use of two-way walkie-talkies during an emergency, and Andi Henderson provided an overview of the Four Seasons Community Awareness (formerly Neighborhood Watch) Program. On Feb. 14, we had a "Sweethearts" CPR Training Class. e training was coordinated by AJ Reilly, nurse extraordinaire! In March, we are scheduled to have a return visit from Beaumont Wastewater Dept. who will provide us with important information on how to prevent sewer back-ups. What you put down your drains and what you flush down your toilets are important considerations to remember for sewer back-up prevention. READY, SET, GO! Unplanned emergency events may require you to evacuate your home. As we experienced during the wildfires last year, police and fire departments either mandated or requested we evacuate our homes due to the imminent danger that threatened us. In such circumstances, you need to be prepared to leave your home immediately. e following checklist is provided to help you prepare to evacuate your home at a moment's notice. What You Will Need to Pack in a "GO BAG" • Start with a STURDY BACKPACK / DUFFEL BAG / SUITCASE • FOOD & WATER: Pack small amounts and plenty to drink • FIRST AID KIT for minor injuries and include N95 masks • MEDICATIONS & PRESCRIPTIONS • EMERGENCY TOOLS: Flashlight, small lantern, and batteries • PHONE / LAPTOP / CHARGERS • CASH IN SMALL BILLS: Stock up on $1s, $5s, and $10s. Electricity could be out, with ATMs out of service. • IMPORTANT PAPERS: Social Security Card, RX, IDs, Insurance, DD214, Birth Certificates, and any valuable papers. • CHANGE OF CLOTHES & JACKET • PERSONAL HYGIENE SUPPLIES: Toilet paper, towelettes, tissues, sanitizer, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and any other immediate needs. • EXTRA EYEGLASSES / CONTACTS • BLANKETS & PILLOWS • PET SUPPLIES • KEYS IN SUMMARY, BE PREPARED! Remember, "If you see something, say something." We would like to thank our Block Captains and Community Awareness Committee members for all they do to help keep our community safe. ~ Frank Hilberg, hilberg frank@gmail.com Community Awareness 26 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2024 Arches Park Back Creek Buck Springs Bulow Creek Calvert Park Canary Creek Cascade Creek Coleman Creek Compass Creek Cooks Creek Crane Creek Cross Creek Diamond Peak Dry Creek Fern Creek Goodrich Rock Granite Creek Heatherwood Humbolt Peak Irvine Park Julie Donavin Moor Kettle Creek Kings Canyon Lewis Creek Madera Creek Mesa Verde Park Mission Trail Murphy Creek Otter Creek Owl Creek Paint Creek Pipe Springs N Poplar Creek Potter Creek Rio Grande Tijeras Creek Timberline Topaz Creek Trout Run Turtle Creek Vinson Crest Wagon Creek Whiskey Creek Whisper Creek Wolf Creek Yellowstone Park The streets listed below have no block captains.
