50 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2024 TOPS TOPS, Take Off Pounds Sensibly, doesn't really have a motto. Oh, we say things to each other like, "See you lighter," or "If it is to be, it is up to me." At the beginning of our meetings, we recite a pledge, and at the close, we repeat a mantra to send us off happy and committed to a healthier lifestyle. Once in a while we create refrigerator hangers to remind us as to what goals we have set for ourselves. Here is one example: Burn, Baby Burn (those calories) Today I pledge that, I will not underestimate my own worth by comparing myself to others. I will not set my goals by what other people expect of me. I will not let life slip through my fingers by thinking about past mistakes or even the possibility of future mistakes. I will live just one day at a time, living in the now. I will not be afraid to admit that I am less than perfect and that's ok. I will not be afraid to encounter risks by trying a new behavior. I will reach out to others in the group and lend a helping hand. I will remember to love myself. No one is exactly like me. I am one of a kind! is will be a great year! You may find that a group like TOPS can help you as well. We meet on Tuesday at 8:30 am in the Ballroom. For more information, call Andi Henderson at (918) 497-6491. ~ Andi Henderson February's gathering included a special 'Italian Trivia" conducted by our club member, Joe Barletta. The questions tested our knowledge of Italian history, actors, singers, and locations. We had a good turnout and the group was broken down into four-person teams to compete with each other for bragging rights and small prizes. The winners will be in next month's Breeze for each of the three games. Our next club meeting will be on March 14 at 5:30 pm at The Courts. The Steering Committee is still finalizing the events for the meeting. Put the date on your calendar and plan to attend. If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see as a program for the club meetings, please contact Barbara Dipoma or Jerry Monahan. The Italian American Club is open to all residents of Four Seasons. You do not have to be Italian to join our group or come to our meetings. We would like to have you come visit with us. Please stay safe and healthy. Non Vedo L Ori Di Vederti Presto (Looking forward to seeing you soon). ~ Barbara Dipoma, (805) 377-2616, and Jerry Monahan, (951) 212-8898 Italian American Club
