Our February meeting was met with some very
chilly weather. Mother Nature, however, was good
to us with no rain. The die-hard gear-heads that did
show up gathered for some hot coffee and donuts
and great conversation. One of the topics was the
2024 Veterans Day Car Show. The date has been set
for Saturday, Nov. 9. Veterans Day is Monday, Nov.
11. Not much to say for this month except to stay
dry and be safe.
Cars & Coffee meets the first Saturday of every
month at 9 am in the Lodge parking lot. The next

Cars & Coffee
Our February meeting was "hands-on" where we practiced our
craft. Different setups were provided for us to experiment with
techniques or to try something new. We shot shadows, macro, and
general tabletops using props and different lighting. The challenge
for February was to explore black and white — taking a photo to
turn into black and white. We also reviewed the photos taken during
our January outing to the San Jacinto Wetlands. Our February outing
was to the San Diego Safari Park. (It's free for seniors in February.)
We meet in the RCN main room the first Thursday of each month;
6 pm to 6:30 pm is our open discussion, "Photo Basics and Beyond;"
presentations and reviews are from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. All levels of
