52 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2024 Seasoned Solos At our February meeting, the Seasoned Solos voted to change the name of our group to Seasoned Singles. Evidently, over the years, many people were under the impression that we were a singing group. We are, very simply, a group for single residents of Four Seasons who are interested in going on outings, dining out, attending plays and art exhibits and the like; we hope that this name change will clear up the confusion. We await Board approval for the name change. January saw the Singles participate in the annual Club Expo in The Lodge Ballroom. In spite of the cold weather, we also ventured out for a few other fun activities. In addition to a breakfast outing at Carolyn's Cafe in Redlands, and a birthday lunch at nearby La Cocina Grill, a few gals traveled out to the Southwest Art Exhibit at the Polo Grounds in Indio. Unfortunately, dinner at Texas Roadhouse in Rialto to benefit the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley's fundraiser had to be canceled due to severe rainy weather. If you're single and would like to join us for outings like these, we meet on the first Friday of the month at 6 pm in The Lodge Craft Room. For more information, please contact Monica Sarafian at (626) 862- 8215. ~ Phyllis Kates At right: Our group celebrated Phyllis Noreika's birthday at La Cocina Grill and Phyllis was generous enough to share her delicious birthday dessert with everyone at the table. Above: Sandy Davis, Barbara Wing field and Monica Sarafian represented our group at the Club Expo. This is the perspective of the artist of the month, Robert Isava. Classic cars and trucks are something most of us can relate to. Each generation can appreciate the beauty they still show and history behind them. When I look at this Ole' Rusty Truck, it inspires me. It also makes me wonder what stories were made and left behind, standing the essence of time. As a kid, I used to enjoy visiting the Museum of Transportation in my birth country of Venezuela. I remember looking at every single exhibit with such admiration and wishing upon the stars that one day I would drive one of them. I get satisfaction by painting them. I have been taking Mixed Media Art classes for five years. I must thank my teacher, Rob Kelman, and all my classmates for support and encouragement in my journey as an artist. If you are interested in drawing or painting, our class is a great place to explore your capabilities and learn new techniques." Classes are held on Mondays from 10 am to 12 pm and/ or Wednesdays from 6 to 8 pm. There is a nominal $5 fee per person, per session. If you have any questions, call Rob Kelman at (951) 992-9156. ~ Rob Kelman Mixed Media Arts
