It doesn't seem like it should be March already and yet spring is
almost here. Everyone must be getting ready for spring cleaning,
which can or can't be a good thing. It is a good time to start thinking
about painting our stucco, shutters, doors, etc. or finally getting
things fixed that weren't urgent then, but maybe are now. We bring
this up to remind you that of the office staff can and cannot do. They
can give you color choices for painting the exterior of your house,
but not the interior. They can provide assistance when completing
the HIA (Homeowner Improvement Application) when needed
for changes in landscape and painting the exterior of your house.
However, if you need something fixed inside or outside, they do not
make recommendations for selecting someone to complete these
jobs.
If you are experiencing an emergency, do not take the time to
notify the office. Call 911.
If there is a pipe that broke inside or outside of your house, do not
take the time to call the office, call the appropriate agency or repair
person, after you shut off your water, if necessary. It is easy to think
because we live in a HOA, the staff should be able to help us with our
property issues. However, when it comes to your property, they are
unable to assist.
On a different note: The campaigning for two spots on the Board
will begin. The ballots should be sent out the middle of April and the
Election results will be at our May Annual Meeting. Please remember
to vote. The election rules are posted on the website: www.soleraovg.
com. Also this month the Finance Committee will be working on our
Budget for 2024 – 2025 which begins June 1, so24. The Budget is
presented at a special Board meeting the first part of April.
I would like to recognize the ambassadors of this committee
and express appreciation for their hard work and dedication to our
community: Patricia Cobb, Jill Markman, Margaret Bly, Sheila Kelly,
Joanne Larson, Marchi, Sarah Tsai, and Dale Van Camp.
Thank you. ~ Marcia Casem, Chairperson, New Resident
