52 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2024 |
We had two speakers at our February meeting. Our first speaker
was Chaplin Caroline from the Riverside National Cemetery. Chaplin
was very informative regarding the process pertaining to the Veteran
and the VA National Cemeteries. She handed out a number of
brochures. One of which was titled "Prepare Now: VA's End-of-Life
Benefits." Another one was titled "Pre-Need Burial Planning." This
one discussed VA form 40-10007, which you can obtain by going on
line and googling that form number. I hope that everyone found the
Chaplin's presentation informative, as I did.
Our second speaker was Tony Scrudato from the Vietnam Veterans
of America. Tony spoke of the charities they contribute to, of which
there are many throughout the Inland Empire. Tony spoke of joining
the organization, which is Chapter 47. Their website is vvachaper47.
org.
I hope that those that attended the Welcome Home Vietnam
Veterans Day at the Noble Creek Regional Park, found it rewarding.
