The Four Seasons Tennis Club
enjoyed its annual Pot Luck and Spirit
Award presentation on Feb. 24. We
had a great gathering of players and
spouses/guests, and an even greater
assortment of foods and beverages.
We were also pleased to have the
opportunity to say good-bye to long
time residents and tennis players,
Barb and Dennis Jorgenson. They are
heading back to Canada, having sold
their winter home here in Four Seasons,
although they have promised to return next
winter.
Each year at our gathering we present
our Spirit Award to a new recipient(s). The
crystal tennis racquet was given to the club
by Bernadette Koretke, following the passing
of her husband Bill. Most of us have enjoyed
many matches with Bill, both as partners
and opponents. Bill loved tennis, and was
the ultimate gentleman on and off the
courts. To honor his memory and spiri, the
crystal racquet is given each year to a player
or players, who exemplify Bill's love of tennis
and his sterling qualities.
This year, our recipients just happen to
be Barb and Dennis! They are pictured
above, together with most of our ladies and
gentlemen players.
We are a friendly group. If you are
interested in learning about tennis and
getting started playing, or it's been awhile
since you last played, please join us. Folks
are on the courts most mornings, 9 am in
colder weather and 8 am when it's going to
get warm.
