| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2024 | 31 Golf Club From the President, Mike Caldwell: "If you're the swearing type, golf will give you plenty to swear about. If you're the type to get down on yourself, you'll have plenty of opportunities to get depressed. If you like to stop and smell the roses, here's your chance. Golf never judges; it just brings out who you are." From the Vice President, Bob Morriss: The Club is looking into arranging for a free set of two group golf lessons for "Newcomers" who might be interested in getting into and learning about golf. From the Tournament Chair, Elliot Yaeger: The April Schedule for the Hemet 4 Seasons Golf Club is as follows: April 2 at 7:30 am: Partners Same Flight: Alternate Shot April 9 at 7:30 am: Team: 2 Net Scores per hole 8 am: Individual: Nine Hole Low Net Tournament April 16 at 7:30 am: NEW: Low Net… Tee Up Ball on Any Shot anywhere. April 23 at 7:30 am: Partners: Nine Hole Best Net... You choose your Front or Back. April 30 at 8 am: Individual: Low Net… You Pick ODD or EVEN holes. From the Social Chair, Meredith Becker: This month (April 5) we are doing a Poker Run… five houses with beer, wine, snacks and, of course, a deck of cards. Then back to The Lodge for pizza and the $Grand Prize$ for the best Poker hand drawn during the run! You don't have to be a golfer join our club to… check out the information sheet at The Lodge's front desk! As Blair Becker stated, "We Don't Just Golf!" From the Rules Chair, Bill Swinney: Did you Know? Rule 20.1 c? You should protect others in the competition. If you know or believe that another player has breached the Rules and does not recognize or is ignoring this, you should tell that player or the rules chairperson. You should do this promptly, and certainly before the player turns his or her scorecard into the tournament director. Your failure to do so could mean serious misconduct resulting in disqualification. Golf Cart Club: The Club's next parade will be on the 4th of July! Details will be provided in future editions of the Herald and through Tracie's blasts and PR re the 4th of July festivities. Flag Angels: The Flag Angels put out flags for Presidents' Day (Feb. 19) throughout the community. This day is one of 11 days on which the Flag Angels work their magic! The next flag day will be Memorial Day. The person below is NOT a flag angel! In July 1969, Neil Armstrong placed the first U.S. flag on the moon, as part of the Apollo 11 mission, the first manned landing. Five more Apollo moon landings — from missions 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17 — resulted in five more flags being planted on the surface of the moon. Astronaut Eugene A. Cernan, Apollo 17 commander, salutes the deployed U.S. flag on the lunar surface during extravehicular activity (EVA) of NASA's final lunar landing mission in the Apollo series. If you see the Flag Angel pin/hat, you should know that a Flag Angel is wearing it (be sure to thank them for their tireless work)! We can always use additional volunteers to serve as backups when a Flag Angel cannot post their flags.
