| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2024 | 3 General Manager's Message By Rick Ruth, CMCA e Annual Membership Meeting is urs., April 24 This year's Annual Meeting will be held to elect four Directors. A reminder: there are two meeting times; 10 am and 1 pm. The 10 am meeting will allow the Board of Directors to open the meeting, allow the Inspector of Election to establish a "quorum," "close the polls" and conduct any other association related business as needed. Once the business is concluded, the meeting will then be adjourned to allow the Inspector of Election, Nominations Committee and the volunteers adequate time to open the Ballot envelopes. The volunteers then count and tabulate the votes for the Inspector of Election, who will verify the tabulations and certify the results. Owners are welcome to attend the 10 am portion, but we want to let you know there is a three-hour gap between the two meeting times in case you have commitments in the morning. The membership meeting will re-convene at 1 pm at which time the results of the Directors elected will be announced. Immediately after, the Officer elections process will begin to elect the Officers. "Meet the Candidates" Night We are scheduling the MTC night for Thurs., April 4 at 6 pm. If you received a ballot and haven't voted, or are unsure who you want to vote for, this is a perfect opportunity to meet the Candidates and get a feel for who you think would best serve your community. The deadline for Ballots to be returned in person is 10 am on April 24. Once the polls are "closed," ballots will not be accepted. ***Don't forget to sign the upper left portion of the outer envelope! We appreciate everyone's participation in this important event to see which of the Candidates will represent the association on the Board for the next two years. Whether you voted for the persons elected or not, please take a moment to congratulate them for volunteering to serve the community. It is a very big commitment of time and energy and we express our gratitude for those individuals willing to step up! More on the File of Life+ The envelope you recently received contains a Physician Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (POLST) Form. This Medical Order gives people with serious illnesses more control over their care during a medical emergency. The POLST can help make sure you get the care you want and also protect you from getting medical treatments you do not want. We recommend discussing this with your medical care provider (physician) who can help complete it for you and explain the importance of having it. EMTs are trained to look for a POLST when they respond to a 911 call to your home, so, a completed POLST should be kept near your File of Life. I've also been asked to remind Residents that the golf course and cart paths are private property and to keep your dogs off of the fairways. This means those residents who are gathering on hole #3 again… Stop it! Improving your home or planning on painting or landscaping? Please take a few minutes and reach out to Maria Donti at (951) 325-8188 during weekday business hours. Maria can help you begin the approval process. A few minutes going over your plans or the approved paint schemes will save you time, money and aggravation. The Board would like to remind everyone that as of March 1, owners making any improvements before receiving Architectural approval may result in that owner being called to hearing. Have a safe month! I am excited to announce we have approved $6.2 million dollars for some very important District 5 programs, including Homeless to Work, Hire a Senior, and Hire a Veteran programs. These programs are designed to provide employment opportunities for those in need, while helping local businesses gain valued new team members! Our Homeless to Work program focuses on unhoused individuals. Hire a Senior focuses on our senior community. Finally, Hire a Veteran focuses on District 5 veterans. As always, I look forward to working with you to ensure everyone "Thrives in District 5!" www.rivcodistrict5.org SUPERVISOR'S MESSAGE
