| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2024 | 15 February had everything coming up hearts and March had everything coming up mud AND WEEDS! Such are the sacrifices a gardener makes in order to truly appreciate all that rain. As a result, April will have everything coming up green, dotted with beautiful wild flowers and the fragrant aroma so unique to spring. The clocks have jumped ahead, and with them, we too spring into the action of getting outside. Our March meeting was hosted by Roberta Feigenbaum and Mary Reyna continuing to educate us on Everything Figs. The photos above indicate how much fun we had celebrating Valentine's Day for the third year in a row. Sue, Kay, myself and Susan took a breather from dancing to capture the moment, and Susan, dancing with Chuck Farr, were right back out there enjoying the music to An Affair to Remember. Sue, pictured with good friend, Joann Ostertag, finished putting the final touches on our festively decorated tables. Growing in popularity, our Bloomers look forward to this unique annual gathering to celebrate one another in friendship, love, and CHOCOLATE! April promises to be an exciting month. We will kick it off on Mon., April 8 at 11 am in the home/garden of club member Mary Swinney. Mary's address is 484 Tewel Dr. This meeting is scheduled specifically two hours earlier as we are going to Mary's to preview her stunning Fairy Garden. From Mary's we will head south to The Gardeners Cottage in Temecula, located at 28465 Old Town Front Street to browse and shop for fairy garden makings, enjoying lunch together prior to returning home. All residents are welcome to attend meetings and trips. Sharing gardening tips, traveling together, learning from each other, and cultivating forever friendships are the blooms growing in our gardens. Usually, Late Bloomers meet every second Monday of the month at 1 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room, unless we meet off-site for unique excursions. Later this month we plan to once again attend the 33rd Annual Southern California Spring Garden Show at South Coast Plaza.
