28 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2024 | Bocce had a great sign up day with 18 teams signing up to play Bocce. The only problem was, we got rained out on our first scheduled bocce game in March. Not what we were expecting although the weather experts are telling us the rain should be less this year. I know most teams are anxious to play bocce as I am and we can only wish for more sunny days since we cannot control Mother Nature. I should mention that in expectation of playing, our maintenance supervisor, Tim Gross prepared the courts by smoothing out and leveling the courts so they would be in good shape to play on. We all thank Tim and appreciate his hard work. If the weather co-operates, we have a bocce BBQ scheduled and pot luck planned at the awards presentation. Dan Ramos has volunteered as chairperson for the BBQ and will depend on all those who signed up to help him. As in the past, everyone did a great job to help make that a great and enjoyable event and I know you will also help Dan to continue the tradition. Next bocce article, I would like to spread the news that bocce players are outside having a great afternoon and for those who missed this year to put that down as something you would like to do next season. Thanks players. ~ Ross Brunetto, Bocce Chairperson (951) 926- 8295 Bocce Do you have an interest in learning to play pickleball? The Pickleball Club would like you to learn foundational skills and join the fun. We encourage all beginners to come down to the courts to learn about the game on Saturday mornings. The winter and spring playtime begins at 7:30 am. Stay safe on the court and come prepared. Pickleball Attire: • Court shoes (no street shoes allowed) • Proper dress attire - comfortable gym clothes • Eye protection • Pickleball paddle (we provide the balls) • Bring water! The spring evening pickleball playtime begins at 4 pm (5 pm for those who can't make it earlier), Monday through Thursday. The evening pickleball players get together every third Sunday of the month at 5 pm in The Lodge Activity Room to enjoy a potluck dinner and hone their competitive skills playing the fun board game, Sequence.
