April is the month typically described as "comfortably warm," perfect for exploring outdoor activities and attractions. It is a great time to enjoy the beauty of Four Seasons and all it has to offer. As some of our residents say as they greet each other, "Another day in Paradise." April is also the month we hold our Annual Membership Meeting and elect our Homeowner Directors. Please sign your ballot and return it on time. We need to achieve a quorum of 50 percent +1, or we must adjourn the meeting and start over again at an additional cost to the Association. Your Board consists of seven members which reflects the size of our community, and allows good discussions. Although the Board members have different backgrounds, we have one goal — to abide by our Vision and Mission Statements, ie, to do what is best for our residents. For those of you who don't attend the monthly Board meetings, here is a quick introduction: The Association is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is the managing body for the Association who have been elected by the membership at an Annual Meeting. It is the Board's responsibility to supervise the property of the Association, approve budgets, exercise their fiduciary responsibilities, and, in general, to make the decisions which strive to serve the betterment of the community . The Board does this on a monthly basis, and you will see how we discuss and deliberate the matters before us. This meeting is commonly referred to as "The Board of Directors Business Meeting" and is open to all members "in good standing." The Board, with the help of the management staff, follows an agenda, and there are copies at the back table for review. During the meeting, the Board will be following the Agenda and discussing and deliberating all of the matters before them. We ask that during that time to please refrain from interrupting the speakers at the podium or at the table. A portion of the meeting is devoted to homeowners to voice their "Concerns, Compliments, or Complaints." Homeowner input explanation: There are "Speaker" Slips at the back table, and we ask that those wishing to speak fill out the slips and bring them up to our table before the start of our meeting. During the Homeowner Open forum, everyone who filled out a speaker slip will be allowed to address the Board. When your name is announced, you will be asked to come up to the podium and state your name and address for the folks attending. Please limit your time to three minutes. Also, in consideration of those of us present, we ask that you act accordingly. We will do our best to provide a response to your concern, but in some cases, we will defer the issue to our management staff to address this concern or research the issue for discussion at a future meeting. You will be given a written response within 10 days of the meeting. At the monthly Board Meetings, our committees make reports. This is an opportunity for residents to learn more about our community, as each committee has different responsibilities. Our committees make your Board members' lives easier by focusing on many community concerns that keep Four Seasons organized, well maintained, and safe. Our residents, who volunteer their time, are the backbone of Four Seasons. This ensures a wide range of ideas that lead to better recommendations and better decisions. There will be a "Meet the Candidates" night on Thurs., April 4, at 7 pm. It's an opportunity to meet and listen to the people who are willing to serve our community. "What is the essence of life? To serve others and to do good." Greek philosopher Aristotle over 2300 years ago. Message from the Board of Directors 2 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2024 | Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Barbra Balser, Cliff Post, Tony Criscenti, Roxy Snider, Fred Kydd, and Mary Reyna Jim Crase President
