30 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2024 | Tai Chi You are invited to join a wonderful group of folks on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the Ballroom from 9:10 to 10 am for Tai Chi. There is no experience necessary and chairs available as needed. The Harvard Health Medical School reports, "This gentle exercise can help maintain strength, flexibility and balance, and could be the perfect activity for the rest of your life." There is no charge for the group, and you can come whenever you are available. We follow two videos and then do a set of movements to music. For more information, join us or call Steve or Peggy Cooper at (951) 599-0123. Fun, fun, fun! That was our Flamingo Bingo and Taco Bar February event. Lots of yummy food and a hilarious time laughing and trying to keep up with our bingo callers Kristine and Annie. Not that they were going too fast, just that our tokens were too big for the bingo sheets. There were a couple of Chicken Dances happening, due to some of us yelling "Bingo" and there was no Bingo. We ran out of tokens for everyone in our black-out game, but we fixed that quite quickly by using pens and pencils. What a lively and amused Saturday we all had. Five lucky winners walked away with gift certificates for the Bistro. We now know, only daubers, no more tokens for future Flamingo Bingo events. At our February meeting, Katie Stout, the Director of Development and Emma Smit, Community Engagement from the Haven Pet Center were our guest speakers from the new version of the Ramona Humane Society which is now called Haven Pet Center, located at 690 Humane Way in San Jacinto. Katie explained the reason for the changes, it is now a "Full Adoption Center." They rehab animals to be adopted. This is a "No Kill" pet center, and no longer accept strays. Katie and Emma were very grateful for the donation and cash they received from our Ladies Club members. They are always looking for volunteers and loving homes for fostering at the center. On Sat., March 30 they had an open house event "Kitty Shower" at the center. We are hoping to make this another regular LC event. We weren't done, it was off to the Regal Theater in March to see the movie Ordinary Angels with lunch at Chili's before the powerful true story of a family going though hard times. It was a great uplifting movie. If you want to be part of the fun, come join us at our next meeting on Mon., April 22 at 1:30 in the Ballroom. Aren't you curious to see what we are planning for May? Come check out the Ladies Club. You can text Julie Rodriguez at (951) 821-1970 or email her at maxsmon0225@yahoo.com. Julie can provide you with more information. New members are ALWAYS WELCOME. We meet the fourth Monday of every month at 1:30 in the Ballroom. Hope to see you at our April Meeting. Our Motto: Having fun, being positive, staying energized, and giving back to the community. FS Ladies Club We have a few people interested in playing horseshoes. There is a horseshoe league that plays on Wednesday mornings at 8 am at different locations around Hemet. We practice Saturdays at 8 am. Horseshoes We are fast approaching our second year in play with 33 members as a club in Four Seasons. The Club plays singles and doubles formats, once a week on Wednesday morning starting at 8 or 9 am. We are thinking about playing later in the day in the spring and fall. Two weeks ago, we had the unthinkable (for seniors) happen. During one of our games, Cynthia Daly threw four cornholes (bag goes through the hole on the board) in one frame! She was financially rewarded and gets the look of jealousy from all our players (especially the guys). Our main emphasis is having fun, which in our opinion constitutes a lot of old folks playing together and LOAO. If you have any questions or just want to give it a try, contact Beth Flanagan at bflana603@gmail.com or (858) 334-9779. Cornhole
