Experienced Realtors have learned how to explain their value to clients. Here are a few ways. ey bring market knowledge and expertise. Realtors have access to data such as mortgage information, the impact from recent home improvements, distressed information, tax assessment history, detailed market activity over time, and more. ey can be a trusted confident. Consumers need an ally with their best interests at heart for matters such as avoiding expensive repairs, securing better mortgage rates and also the pros and cons of specific houses. Fiy-eight percent of home buyers say they appreciate it when their Realtor points out unnoticed features or faults with a property. In one instance, a Realtor spotted signs of a sloping floor in a property her buyer wanted to make an offer on. She contacted a foundation inspector, who confirmed her suspicions. en her clients could negotiate a price reduction or cancel the contract. Negotiation skills are a major benefit to using a real estate agent. Buyers want an expert to help prepare an attractive offer in the current market and who can explain the merits and weaknesses of offers. In another instance, a buyer was insisting on making an offer to pay full price for a home, but the Realtor knew the market data was showing otherwise. She persuaded them to offer much less. e buyers freaked out and were sure they would not even receive a response. Not only did they get a response, but they got an accepted offer! Real estate pros can help clients avoid potential pitfalls, by doing things such as navigating the complex paperwork on forms and disclosures. Also, sellers could be leaving money on the table by not properly preparing their home prior to listing it. A Realtor can share with their clients how staging can help increase a home's value. Every Realtor is bound by a professional code of ethics that spells out the responsibilities of the job and duties to clients, such as refraining from misrepresentation, abiding by fair housing laws, and more.
