34 | LIFE IN SOLERA | APRIL 2024 | RV GROUP Greetings from the Solera RV Group. In February, a few of our hardier members braved the cold and rain to enjoy a camping trip at the beautiful Springs of Borrego RV and Golf resort in Borrego Springs, California. The Springs at Borrego is a full service RV resort offering golf, tennis courts, hot springs and more. The resort is quickly becoming a group favorite. We'll be back soon. Enjoy the photos below. In March, the RV group is having a campout at nearby Prado Regional Park. Prado Dam as it is commonly called, has full hook- up sites and lots of activities for everyone to enjoy. The camp fees are only $40 per night for full hook-ups (electric, water and sewer). This is the best camping bargain around and only about 45 miles away making it very affordable fuel wise. The RV group is starting to plan for a longer camping trip to Pismo Beach and/or the California Central Coast. There are plenty of campgrounds and areas to explore from Ventura to San Luis Obispo. This may be a week to two week trip if we can get our reservations in before the summer. The RV group would love for you to join us. Many campgrounds offer cabins and trailers to rent on site for those who don't have access to an RV. As RVers start to get ready for the summer camping season, it's important to check the following items on your recreational vehicle. 1. Change your tow vehicle/motorhome oil. 2. Service your generators, both on board and portable. Yearly changing of the oil in generators is essential for proper operation. 3. Check your tires for wear and tear. Change if necessary. 4. Check the tire pressure on all of your tires. 5. Check your refrigerator to see if it's running properly. 6. If you have a propane stove, do an operational check on it to see if the oven and burners are working properly. 7. Now's the time to do a little check-up on yourself. Make sure you are up for the rigors of driving and operating an RV. Start to get in a little more exercise for yourself if possible. Make an appointment with your medical provider to get your blood pressure and medications checked and updated. If you would like to be a part of the RV Group or just curious about the RV lifestyle, please attend our monthly meetings. We meet the second Friday of every month at 3 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. We usually have informational materials to pass out to members and visitors. You do not have to own an RV to participate in the group. Everyone is welcomed. Hope to see you soon and safe travels. ~ Ron Monroe, RV Group Leader, (909) 732-6139
