| LIFE IN SOLERA | APRIL 2024 | 43 GOLF CLUB Men and women are welcome to come and play golf with our Solera Golf Club. The goal is to have fun no matter what your skill level is. We play each Tuesday morning. This month we rotate through Oak Valley, Tukwet Canyon, Yucaipa Valley, and Eagle Falls golf courses. We plan on sprinkling in a few rounds at The Country Club at Soboba Springs and Hemet Golf Club this year. We'd love it if you would like to join us for a round or two before deciding if you would like to join us on a regular basis. We'll have a couple of club members and a board member in your group to play with you should you want to give us a try. You can contact Richard Crowe at (951) 769-1580 for more information. This year's Match Play Tournament will have two qualifier rounds of golf to determine the field of 16 with the lowest net scores competing for the trophy. The second qualifier is on April 2 with the first round of Match Play starting the following week. Our first event in March was our first qualifier. We had some really good net scores with a tie for first between Arden Bates and Marty Anderson both at -1, and Jim Karalun two strokes back at +1. Bob Umeck won 2 of the 4 CPs, with Ray Smith and Dave Scott took the other 2 CPs. February was a washout on three of the four Tuesdays. Feb. 13 was the exception — the big winners were Dave Duncanson and the weather. What a beautiful and amazing February day at Tukwet! The game was Low Gross and Low Net with Two Throw-Outs. Each player decided which two hole scores they wanted to throw away. The Low Gross A Flight top three winners were Umeck, John Dockery, and Stan Whitesel. The Low Gross B Flight top three winners were Rod Fry, Karalun - Dave Sampson tied for second, and Craig Martin. The A Flight Low Net winners were Duncanson (kudos to Dunc, who fired a Net 60) to take first place in Low Net A Flight, Smith, Armand Silva-Jaime Maciel tied for third. The B Flight winners are Anderson-Walter Stempien tied for first, Jerry Stearn, and Richard Martin. During the cold months, we will be playing at 3 pm. Please call Dorothy Hoffecker at (951) 217-5357 for more information. Everyone is welcome. SUNDAY EVENING BOCCE Please come join us for a fun free-form fitness group. Great music and fun socializing while getting fit. We play many genres of music. Everything is at your own pace and there is no formal instructor. Join us every Sunday from 11 am to noon in the Oakmont Room. Bring water and socks if preferred. Contact Mari Rezinas at (909) 848- 0754 with any questions. Hope to see you!
