The new Doo Wop and Disco Club Board of Directors is excited to be
working with members who are planning an array of dance parties with
different themes throughout the rest of the year.
Coming up Sun., April 21, party planners Jim and Cecilia Quinn are
bringing The Buckleys - who wowed dancers at a Racquet Club event –
to play at our party.
More specific information about the rest of the events will be posted
soon. In the meantime, here are dates for other future dances:
At the Doo Wop Meet and Greet held a few months ago, I asked the
100-plus attendees if they wanted food or no food at our dances. The
overwhelming response was "No food!" However, even though we can
keep costs down if we don't have to hire caterers, this issue still seems to
elicit divided responses throughout the membership. We plan to email
another survey in the future to see if the previous sentiment holds.
The dances held in Abravanel Hall will generally feature a live band.
Once the Lanai is finished, we will evaluate whether the area will be
large enough to accommodate a band or whether a DJ would be more
