Happy Easter, Happy Passover to all! "Sweet April showers do bring May flowers." This expression originated in 1157 from a work by Geoffrey Chaucer, author of e Canterbury Tales. This is the original: "Whan that Aprill, with his shoures soote The droghte of March hath perced to the roote And bathed every veyne in swich licour, Of which vertu engendred is the flour;" Translation: "When in April the sweet showers fall That pierce March's drought to the root and all And bathed every vein in liquor that has power To generate therein and sire the flower;" We certainly have had our share of rain here in California. With daylight savings starting we expect to see more residents enjoying the amenities. Our Pop-up Mondays continue with an eblast each week informing the community of their arrival in the Overflow Parking Lot. Times may change based on their availability. Please support each of the vendors: La Banana, Chez Christophe, and Ela's Crepes aka Stacy's, as they try to anticipate the number of orders. It certainly is best for their pocketbooks to sell out on their scheduled day. Our fitness consultant, Cheryl Schindler, an ACE certified personal trainer is available on the fourth Saturday of the month from 2 to 4 pm. She will provide an introduction to the Hoist Weight Equipment and the Cardio Equipment at no charge. Personal consultations are available; this can be arranged with Cheryl directly. At this time, the Master Board is reviewing the Transportation Services, the current contract with No Vacancy ends April 5, 2024. They are reviewing the alternatives, and making a decision as to the direction they will take in the near future. Please stay informed. As we approach May's 40th Anniversary celebrations, the event calendar is jammed packed with activities. The 40th Committee has worked diligently to make it the best experience for all in attendance. From the scheduling of the individual photos, to taking photos of the past campus activity, to inviting vendors, creating the Anniversary Book from scratch, to the grand "Sock Hop' finale of champagne and cake on May 31, our gratitude goes out to each of you! Pool season is just around the corner and we are hoping to get a jump start on being sure all users are aware of the pool rules and that residents must accompany their guests when using all recreational areas. Children 5-14 years of age can use the pool during children's hours only. New noodles have been purchased, large and small, which any swimmer can access.
