Table
Tennis
Table Tennis, a new club activity, has grown by leaps and bounds
to meet the expectations of its growing membership. In Table Tennis
we love to compete, challenge one another, laugh a lot, dream big, be
grateful to have fun and cheer our fellow players. Time, good friends,
and movement oriented physical activity are some of the things that
become more valuable the older you get. We do not criticize your
activity skill level, but through instruction and practice we increase
your ability to play and develop your enthusiasm for the game.
We offer select times and hours during the week for beginners,
intermediates, advanced players, singles and doubles play and also
invite our OHCC residents who are members of the Parkinson's
Support Group to join us to play. Stan S. Katz, our Club President,
emails our weekly schedule to our members. We are generally
scheduled for afternoon hours on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and on
Saturday and Sunday we often have the tables set up for most of the
afternoon and evening. Sign up to join the Table tennis Club at the
Clubhouse front desk. It's only $10 for 2024, and you'll be included
on this email list. Our schedule is also presented in the weekly OHCC
activity printout and on the OHCC website for activities.
This is a social group where we become friends. Two parties are
planned for 2024, with fun food, and of course we'll include playing
table tennis. Spring Fling party, April 28 and general meeting Oct. 6.
If you require more practice, our club has a machine (robot)
available for you to practice on. You will first learn how to setup the
machine. Cliff Singh and Bob Foster are responsible for instruction
on setting up the machine and its use. The machine usually wins at
first, but over time our members can beat it. Written by: Cliff Singh
