As you know, one of Community Patrol's primary responsibilities is answering phone calls. During the month of February, Keystone replaced all old phones within the community, which led to a new procedure for calling the front gate. New process: As many residents know and have done for many years, the process was always to call (760) 758-7111 to speak with a Security Officer who would pick up the phone. That phone number is now designated to a direct landline. So if anyone calls that number directly, it will ring for a bit. If the Security Officer is still on a phone call assisting another person, the call will eventually end. I know many have been accustomed to this procedure, but the new process for calling the gate is the following: * Call (760) 758-7080, then press 5 This will direct all phone calls to the front gate; if one line is busy, it will then cause the other phones to ring, and another officer can assist you. If the nature of the phone call is an emergency, please call 9-1-1. You can also call (760) 766-1468, but if you call that directly the problem with the 7111 number will occur. I know it's hard to change routine, especially since all residents have done this for many years. Those are the solutions that I could come up with for getting in contact with the front gate. A friendly reminder that all vehicles need to stop at a stop sign. It does not matter if there are no other cars around; not stopping at a designated stop sign is a traffic violation. Our security officers enforce that policy when they are out around the community and being posted to observe such violations. This happened to me when I was patrolling the community with a marked Securitas vehicle — I stopped at a stop sign and counted four Mississippi then was honked at. An officer of mine informed me that it also happened to him while patrolling. This is a safety concern, please adhere to this rule. Thank you for being an integral part of our community. We are here to help the community to be welcoming and thriving. If you have a concern that you would like to be addressed in another issue of Living magazine, contact me via email or by phone. My office at the front gate is always open for Ocean Hills Country Club residents. ~ Tony Duong, Director of Community Patrol Services, Tony.Duong@ securitasinc.com, P-(760) 766-14580, M-(760) 505-2146 4 | OHCC LIVING | APRIL 2024 | Continued from previous page Community Patrol Services street curbs, phone systems, casa renovations, community patrol staffing, streamlining ARC applications, vehicle sticker distribution, insurance, Clubhouse janitorial services and construction project management. These have been more significant in their impact over the last year and a half than any similar efforts over the more than five years I have served on the Board. And in the future, we are looking toward savings on our HOA vehicles, streetlight repairs and power usage, document storage, solar energy and turf reductions (with possible rebates) and other water-saving efforts, including bringing the well water on-line. Your Board and your staff have been very busy indeed! The Regular Monthly Board Meeting was held on Feb. 15 and the following actions were taken: • Approved the Minutes of the meeting of Jan. 18 • Approved the Report of the Executive Finance Committee meeting on Jan. 29 • Approved the December 2023 Financials • Approved fund transfers exceeding $10,000 • Approved the budget for the fiscal year April 1, 2024 through March 31, 2025 • Approved modification of the reserve account categories to match those used by the reserve analysts • Directed the General Manager to create a monthly budget allocation taking into account seasonal variations or one-time expenses • Deferred consideration of additional village water fees to the 2025-26 budget process • Referred a proposed tree maintenance policy modification to the Landscape Committee for review and comment • Upheld a denial by ARC of permission to display art on the exterior wall of a home pending further review of the Rules • Appointed Members to various vacancies on the standing committees for terms ending in February 2025 and 2026 • Approved the removal of a Ficus tree by O'Connell Landscape Management for $3,960 • Approved servicing of the booster pumps at the Clubhouse by O'Connell for an amount not to exceed $4,688 • Approved a proposal on the recommendation of the Landscape Committee for O'Connell to replant part of the golf course slopes for $21,473. As a reminder, our HOA rules permit election-related political signs up to 90 days prior to an election and no more than 15 days after an election. All signs from the primary election should now be removed, and signs for the general election in November should not be placed before Aug. 7. Thank you for your interest in the affairs of your Association.
