| THE COLONY NEWS | APRIL 2024 | 29 Men's Golf By Greg Griffes e Men's Golf Club is looking for Colony resident golfers of all abilities to join us. Membership benefits are weekly fun events mixed with individual events to improve your game and handicap. We have monthly luncheons, two major championships each year, a year-end Awards Banquet, and we also sponsor the charity Pancake Breakfasts twice a year. ere is a schedule of our games at http://colonymensgolf.net. On Wednesday, April 24, we will begin one of our three-day major tournaments, the Club Championship. is is an individual tournament where everyone competes against each other using their USGA handicaps. Trophies will be awarded for the winners and displayed in the trophy case in the Clubhouse. Last month we played a Scramble game with Team Low Putts for competition, which was a big hit for all of us. e winning teams had only 17 putts in 18 holes-- pretty amazing! March Colony Couples 2Ball results: Like many contests in the history of Colony 2Ball, Mother Nature played a significant role. e event seems to compete for clear skies in order to play. We were on hold up until play day. Finally,the sky opened and the game was played with a slight chill in the air as temps hovered in the mid to high 50s and rain held off until late in the night. If you have interest in joining us, give me a call or drop me an email at dmurph44@verizon.net and I will send you a 2024 tournament schedule (first ursday aernoon of the month), rules of the game and include you in our active mailing list. Our next contest is set for ursday, April 4. Requirements for this event are to be able to grasp a club! Being a member of the Men's or Women's Golf Club is not required.
