One afternoon while visiting with folks in the Bistro, a resident gave me a job description that I can't get out of my head. Well, actually I wrote it down on a post-it and it stares at me daily. Memory isn't what it used to be during these "hot" years. I can't tell you what the conversation was, but at some point, I ask what am I here for? Her answer was "To minimize the misery." To the resident, thank you. To minimize the misery. This may seem dark or bleak, but it speaks to me. I take the message with me in my daily rounds of errands. Maybe just maybe my smile to a stranger, letting a fellow shopper go ahead of me in line, holding the door, a text to a friend, or a positive comment on social media. My hope that my presence and interactions "minimize the misery" even if for just a moment. The Music on the Plaza series has begun and we are excited for more! The Piano Club is having another wonderful concert on May 4. Bid Whist Plus is hosting Juneteenth and tickets are going on sale. To get ready for summer, the Social Committee will start selling tickets for the Fourth of July celebration. Team Sunshine will once again host the Health Fair on May 16, come out and take advantage of some great resources. But before we have all that fun… make sure you are ready for the Community Yard Sale on May 11. The perfect date is hard to find and I know this date is not ideal for some and for others it works great. I will try to find a better date in 2025. Happy Mother's Day!~ Tracie Rodgers 4 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2024 | From Your Activities Director Presented By The Vintage Voices on Sun, May 26 at 5 pm in the Four Seasons Ballroom MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT
