8 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2024 | Celebrate Independence Day in Four Seasons style… at a cost of $25 per person, a hamburger and a hot dog with all the fixin's and sides, and topped with a patriotic cupcake. The Riverside Sheriff Mounted Posse Color Guard will open the celebration and our Russ Brown will narrate a tribute to the various service organizations. Tahquitz High School ROTC will assist in the cooking and serving of the dinners. Followed by a concert venue and dancing provided by The American Patriot Band (APB). The American Patriot Band (above) is comprised of veterans and serves as the primary marketing and fundraising platform for American Patriot Music Project, a 501c3 non-profit organization. The award-winning signature music band is an official component of the foundation that works with veterans and first responders on and off stage, supporting a variety of music projects designed to create a positive influence in the lives of our nation's heroes in need. "Music has the power to heal and uplift, and at the American Patriot Music Project, we are proud to be making a difference in the lives of our veterans and first responders!" ~ The American Patriot Music Project We believe the veteran musicians, their support for veteran projects, their patriotic-themed program, and rock, popular rock, funk, and ballads will be well received and contribute to a successful celebration. Tickets go on sale on Wed., May 22. Get your party together and select your table and seating, and wear red, white, and blue on July 4th. Social Committee After 17 years on the Social Committee, Bev Rockvam (at right) has retired from the committee and was honored at a luncheon. Very few words can express the gratitude for the 17 years of dedication Bev has given our community. She has had her hands, counsel and advice in many of the Social Committee projects over this time. We are forever thankful to her and her husband, Greg Rockvam (former Board member), for their lasting contributions to Four Seasons. The earth is getting fat… like many of us, getting a little pudgy in the mid-riff slows us down. So too with the earth. Melting of the ice caps causes the accumulation of water around the equators. So, unlike what was mentioned in previous month's articles where we have to make up for gaining time by having leap years. The earth's rotation slows causing us to adjust the clocks by subtracting seconds. In search of the trivia, this is how the "world turns." Don't forget the Scavenger Hunt on May 18. This is going to be lots of fun. "Do you know what an elephant-hair ring looks like?" Coming soon: Shred Day (April 27); Wednesday Bingo Nights, (May 1, 8, 15, 22, and 22); First Friday TGIF - Karaoke, (May 3); An Evening of Elegance: A Piano Concert, The Sounds of Music Movies (May 4); Community Yard Sale (May 11); Brunch at the Bistro, (May 12); Scavenger Hunt (May 18); Music on the Plaza: Rayford Brothers (May 21); Fourth of July tickets on sale (May 22); Open Session Board Meeting, (May 29).
