| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | MAY 2024 | 33 Bid Whist PLUS Club Bid Whist Plus Social Club's Juneteenth Celebration: Ticket sales begin Tues., May 7 at 8 am at the Game Room. Join us as we celebrate this important day in American history on Sat., June 15 at the Plaza from 5 to 9 pm. Tickets are $20 pp; limited to residents and their guests. Checks only (payable to FS Bid Whist Plus Social Club). Food sold separately. Two vendors will be serving up mouthwatering dishes that will satisfy your taste buds: "Dad's BBQ & Catering" food truck and our own Bistro: Francisco Aguirre Restaurant & Catering. One may also BYOF and BYOB (no glass on the Plaza). Starting off our music event will be DJ Doc at 5 pm. Our talented band ReMix will take the stage at 6 pm, treating attendees to the smoothest R&B, funk, and new Jack swing sounds in town. Get ready to groove and dance the night away as they deliver an unforgettable performance. In addition to the sensational music, at a 4:30 pm or a 5:30 pm session in the Game Room, learn the art of crafting the perfect cigar from our expert instructor for $55 per 45-minute session. Participants learn basic cigar rolling techniques and make two to three cigars for themselves or for their friends. Refer to flyer at the Lodge for more details. And for art enthusiasts, explore captivating art at our free art expo in the Ballroom. Behold the showcase of talented local artist's extraordinary creations. In the Art Expo do not miss the Club's booth that is shared by our event sponsor, California Black Women's Health Project. In addition to health-related educational information, we will be distributing free home COVID kits and free event photos while supplies last. Juneteenth is a day that holds immense significance in American history. It is a day that marks the liberation of Afro-Americans from bondage and represents our country's ongoing strive towards becoming a color-blind society. By commemorating it, we honor the struggles and achievements of those who fought for freedom and equality. This event promises to be a night filled with incredible music, delicious food, and captivating art. Do not miss this incredible event - join us for an evening of celebration, unity, and joy! Bid Whist Plus Social Club: Who are we? The Bid Whist PLUS Social Club meet the first Friday of every month from 2 to 5:30 pm in The Lodge Game Room. We are a welcoming, diverse, and friendly social group who enjoy playing a variety of card/board games, great food, and good times. We also have been involved in sharing our love for music by organizing musical events throughout the year. For only $7, you can enjoy three hours of fun and games with friends and neighbors. Doors open at 5 pm for residents and 5:15 for outside guests.
