FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2024 31 Social Committee We on the Social Committee are so grateful for our volunteers. Bobbie Christman (at left), has been a member for five years and our secretary for all five of the years. Bobbie started her career in retail with K-Mart. She was a stock clerk and a department manager. Her responsibilities included training employees for management positions. Bobbie worked in retail for 14 years. After retail, she started a new chapter. She went to work for Spartech Plastics, an extrusion molding company. Here she started off in customer service, then was promoted to the manager of the department training customer service personnel. From there she transferred to production and scheduling. She was responsible for scheduling all the extrusion machines as well as purchasing all of the raw materials for the company. After 33 years with Spartech, she retired at the age of 65. At right is our treasurer, Andrea Griffin. Andrea has been on the Social Committee for three years and has been the treasurer for two years. Andrea spent her career in retail management. She has had experience as a Division Manager, Operations Manager, Store Manager, Merchandise Manager, and a District Business Manager. Andrea's responsibilities included managing expenses, training teams, and coaching in Customer Service. Since becoming chair of the Social Committee, these two ladies have helped me tremendously by guiding me through the responsibilities of this position. It was standing ovation time at the Divine Divas show (at right). These ladies put on a fabulous show singing the tunes from Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, and Tina Turner. Their interaction with the audience was so good, you felt like you knew them. One of the best shows we have had here at the Four Seasons. To add to the evening, DJ Dave hosted Music Bingo. It was another hit of the evening. For those who did not see this show, you missed a great evening of entertainment and fun. Keep your eye out for the flyers for the next event, which is our Fashion Show on May 18. As if on cue, the herald of spring arrives after taking a sabbatical for the winter. Buds begin to flower on the trees, adding a splash of color. Grass always seems to whisper in springtime. The sun washes away the sugar-frosted coating of winter. When morning comes the sun peeps through the clouds and injects life into our beautiful landscaping here at Four Seasons. Our landscape will then become lush and bountiful with color for another year, an oasis for life in a shrinking world. My wife and I moved to Four Seasons in 2009, when the development was still in its infancy. Fifteen years later it has grown into a premier 55+ resort, showcasing the lush greenery and a beautiful array of the breathtaking color of flowers throughout.
