40 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2024 Our Cars & Coffee in April was greeted with chilly temperatures but the sun was shining and there was no rain. We had a good turnout with 15 cars and two new attendees. Matt Swearman and his mother Emma showed up with his absolutely gorgeous Taupe Metallic 1956 Cadillac Coupe De Ville. Matt has owned his Cadillac since 2003 when it went through a complete factory spec restoration. Mathew Frydendall arrived in style with his 2023 BMW M240I. It is a beautiful Alpine white, powered by an in-line 6 turbo, producing 400 HP. The Car Show Season is here and there are several that are already on our calendar. June 8, 10 am to 2 pm - Manzanita Village Senior Living, 27900 Brodiaea Ave., Moreno Valley June 22 - Cherry Valley Car Show (additional information will be available as we get it) The Lakes will also be sponsoring a car show, however the date has yet to be determined. Rick and I have been in discussion with Bistro management in organizing a joint BBQ in conjunction with our meeting in June (additional information will be available at a later date). Cars & Coffee meets the first Saturday of every month at 9 am at The Lodge parking lot. Our next meeting will be on May 4. Please join us for some hot coffee, donuts, and some great conversation. For more information, please contact Frank Morales at (951) 203-4578 for fmoralesjrinc@aol.com or Rick Morales at (951) 255-4710 or onemth53@yahoo.com. ~ Frank Morales Cars & Coffee Taste d'Vine Well, spring has sprung. Here are a couple of tidbits for you… Did you know Oenophobia is the fear of wine and it is a real thing. It certainly does not affect our group. Did you know that there is a reason for toasting? It started in ancient Roman times – but not by clinking glasses. Instead, burnt or toasted bread was dropped into the wine to cut the taste of unsavory wines. Okay, enough about that; let's get into this month's wines. We are excited to bring you two small boutique wineries in May. Made by Light Wine, it is located in De Luz, CA in the mountains west of Temecula. It's a small winery with 30 acres of Rhone and Sicilian planted vines. They recently acquired Sierra Robles Winery and Vineyard just outside Warner Springs, CA. The vineyard here was planted on several acres on the east slope of Palomar Mountain in 2012. There is a tasting room at this location open on the weekends. ~ Gino Domico, gdomico@gmail.com Matt Swearman and his mother Emma with his 1956 Cadillac Coupe De Ville Mathew Frydendall with his 2023 BMW M240I Our Savior's Lutheran — ELCA Sunday Worship 9 am also on Facebook Live Sunday & Weekly Bible Studies 1320 W.
