50 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2024 TOPS WOW! Have we been busy. This past month at TOPS, (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) we had a guest speaker, a physical therapist from Pass Therapy in Beaumont. Annie Hilton and her student had us doing many exercises to strengthen our core, stretch our bodies and enhance our balance. She showed us the full routines, and then how to modify them due to age or handicaps. We used water bottles for resistance in some exercises. Each week we have a different program based on motivation, nutrition, movement, healthy eating, or healthy lifestyle. Our topics recently have been Perfect Steamed Vegetables, Sleep Matters, 12 Days of Self-Care, and Eight Ways to Show You Care Without Sweets. You may find that a group like TOPS can help you as well. We meet on Tuesday at 8:30 am in the Ballroom. For more information, call me at (918) 497-6491. ~ Andi Henderson The Italian American Club's March meeting was a great success. Karen Belcher presented "Who Knew They Were Italian" competition of songs written or sung by Italians. There were several surprises during the evening identifying the artists singing the songs or identifying the song writers. Our group had a lot of fun, and in the end, the table led by Barbara Dipoma won the bragging rights as winner of the competition. Karen, once again, you did an incredible job on the program, and the members of the Italian American Club thank you for all the work that went into the program. At our April meeting, the program was "Soups of Italy" planned by Barbara Dipoma and her Steering Committee. There were a lot of soups to be tasted, and, as usual, everything was delicious. The meeting was well attended and a good time was had by all. Thank you to all the cooks who made the evening special. The May 9 meeting will be held at The Courts. The start time will be at 6 pm because the three facilities are now on the summer-hours schedule. Barbara and the Steering Committee will be working on a program for the evening. Please put the date on your calendar. The competition of the Meatballs vs. the Matzah Balls will not occur this year, but will return in 2025. We all enjoyed the competition and look forward to its return next year. The Italian American Club is open to all residents of Four Seasons. You do not have to be Italian to join our group or to come to our meetings. We would like to have you come visit with us. Please stay safe and healthy. Non Vedo L Ori Di Vederti Presto (Looking forward to seeing you soon). ~ Barbara Dipoma, (805) 377-2616, and Jerry Monahan, (951) 212-8898 Italian American Club
