This is the perspective of the artist of the month, Dianne Wood:
I had noticed Rob's Mixed Media Art class article in the Breeze for
many months. I really was interested in attending but I am not an
artist. I've never taken an art class before. I eventually took the risk
and called Rob Kelman. He was very gracious and encouraging and
he invited me to join the class. I actually felt very comfortable in
spite of my lack of knowledge and talent. I had no idea what a great
blessing it would be. Rob has truly changed how I view the beautiful
world around me. He opened my eyes to see and observe. My world is
more beautiful and colorful and has been greatly expanded because
of all of his teaching and recommendations during our class. Rob
is not only a very talented artist but also a very patient and caring
teacher. It took many months for me to produce a finished picture,
but all the way, Rob was consistently patient and encouraging. I am
also thankful for all the other students in class who are really gifted
artists. I was able to observe their work and learn from them as well.
So, I just want to say thank you to Rob for sharing the beautiful world
of art to me.
Classes are Mondays from 10 am to 12 noon and/or Wednesdays
from 6 to 8 pm. There is a nominal $5 fee per person, per session. If
