58 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2024 Four Seasons Pickleball is full of shenanigans! On March 16, the Pickleball Club hosted an in-house shenanigans tournament. The time and talent of our Pickleball Steering Committee member, Kelly Vucinic, were on full display as the tournament organizer. The tournament was free to the 40 participants along with Jersey Mike's lunch and Maggie's famous green brew. Look at all those medals on display by the winners (photo above left). Yummy hand-baked and decorated pickleball cookies by club member, Rebecca Mendenhall, were enjoyed by all (photo above right). You are all invited to join our daily shenanigans on the courts. New members welcome daily from 7 to 11 am. We will teach you, we have paddles, we have balls, we have fun. Wherever you go and whatever you do, may the luck of the Irish be with you! ~ Karen Rose, gmew@hotmail.com Pickleball As of this writing, we haven't completed our April Racquet Paddle Battle Tournament. Results will be posted in next month's Breeze. We have 16 participants for our first RPBT. Each two-person team will compete in Tennis, Paddle Tennis, and Pickleball. All participants are very excited and have been practicing in the sport that we're not too familiar with. That has been a lot of fun for those of us learning pickleball and for those refreshing their tennis skills. Paddle tennis courts are open seven days a week. There is a regular group that plays on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays around 2 pm. Everyone is welcome to come join in the play at any time, no reservations required. We have extra paddles to get you in the game. Hope to see you soon. For info, email me at ecgallegos@outlook.com. ~ Lizzie Gallegos Paddle Tennis Bocce Ball is played at The Summit on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9 am. As we head into late spring and early summer, we should be getting some good turnouts for play. Also, as the weather warms up, we will be changing our start time. Bocce Ball requires no specific skill or previous experience. You will get a littler exercise and enjoy a beautiful view and breezes at The Summit, all while having a great time with a great group of people. Any questions please call or text me (840) 234-6494 or email me hanknegrete16@yahoo.com. ~ Hank Negrete Bocce Ball
