FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2024 9 It's May, spring has sprung, so let the music begin! On Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, the Performing Arts Club is presenting the hilarious Four Seasons version of the musical Menopause. You are going to find yourselves rolling in the aisles over the clever songs and the great acting. This is a free performance, but you must go to The Lodge front desk and get your tickets for your preferred show date. There will be a stand-by line if you can't get tickets, so feel free to come and wait to take the place of a no-show. Saturday, May 11 at 5 pm will be our first Spring Mother's Day Loggia Concert. We are collaborating with the Bistro who will have a yummy Mother's Day buffet (stay tuned for more delicious info). I know that they will be offering presale dinner tickets at a discount, with full price tickets at the door on the day of the event, so keep your eyes peeled for the latest breaking news. The MLC Band will be playing awesome dance music starting at 5:30 pm, so be sure to bring your dancing shoes. At the intermission we have a special dance treat, as the Shimmy Mob dances for the incredible cause of women victimized by domestic violence. Feel free to bring a little something to contribute. Mother's Day is a special time and we love our Four Seasons mothers; what a fun way to celebrate these wonderful gals! Come on down, bring your favorite beverages, and enjoy the festivities (no price for admittance). Hooray! The Amphitheater Concert Series is back for a new 2024 season starting on Sunday, May 19 at 7 pm. Our opening band will be Beach Boy themed, with the popular band, Woodie and the Longboards. Please wear your favorite Hawaiian shirts and dresses. The Bistro will be offering grilled burgers and hot dogs again this year, so no need to eat before you come; how convenient! News flash: The Board of Directors just approved residents to be able to set their chairs up after 6 pm the night before. That means if you were used to waking up at 3 am in the morning on Amphitheater Sunday to line up to put your chair down, you can put your chair out at a reasonable time on Saturday and sleep in on Sunday. Karaoke is on a different Saturday this month due to the Fashion Show on the third Saturday, so make a note that Karaoke will be on Saturday, May 25 at the usual 5:30 pm. Be sure to come and bring a song and a friend to this fun and friendly gathering. Memorial Day weekend will be celebrated by a special concert on Sunday, May 26 from 1 to 4 pm in the Amphitheater. This is going to be performed by our very own resident musicians, the Turtle River Band, singing Americana and another set of pop-rock music. Smooth Combo will also be a part of the entertainment, so there will be something for everyone with this genre line-up. Everyone is welcome and there is no price for admittance. Finally, the Westbrooks are hosting the HOA Disco Dance on Friday, May 31 at 6 pm in the Ballroom. Phil and Elizabeth always make their dances fun even for those that just like to watch the entertainment rather than dance.
