Everyone is welcome at our monthly meetings.
General meetings are held on Sunday afternoons
from 2 to 4 pm in the South Clubhouse. Refreshments,
an art demonstration, and a mini-art show are monthly happenings.
Our next meeting is May 19 with a demonstration by acrylic/oil artist
David Farrington. This will be followed by three consecutive Sunday
classes held in the Main Clubhouse Arts & Crafts Room from noon to
3 pm on May 26, June 2, and June 9. Contact Linda Grabler at (951)

Our April meeting featured Art League's own Shirley Anderson
demonstrating the art of acrylic pour painting. She then offered a
one-day workshop for those wishing to learn this technique. We had
lots of fun trying out something new. The winners of our monthly
mini show were: 1st place, Susan Van Loon with a lovely sepia tone oil
painting of her grandmother; 2nd place, Betty Jo Ford who showed
off her talent with acrylics by painting a beautiful flower motif on
plaster eggs; and 3rd place, Pattie Rogers used mixed media painting
to create a "Rasta" Jellyfish. Congratulation to the winners and all
who entered their work!
A few upcoming dates to remember: Art League potluck n Fri.,
May, 17 beginning at 5 pm in the North Clubhouse. Good food and
entertainment by the Sun Lakes Dancers. Members only and you
may bring two guests. June and July are dark with no scheduled
meetings. Do you have an artistic talent such as pottery, paper art,
jewelry making, etc.? Would you like to earn some extra money? We'd
like to speak to you about doing a demonstration and leading classes
