e SDV Pickleball Club is in full swing! We just held our first
tournament of 2024 and had a great turnout. Eight men and eight
women battled for first through fourth place. We were teamed
with a different partner for each round which mixed age and skill
levels throughout the course of eight games each. Let me tell you
there was no dinking around here… well except on the kitchen
line. Plenty of lobs and slams were happening for sure.
We congratulate our champs, Richard Clarke and Janet Davis!
Our runners-up were Keith Davis and Adriana Davis! (Hmm, is
there something more to being a Davis?) ird Place was Tom
Ritchie and Cindi Pena-Buck! Fourth Place was Scott Harrington
and yours truly Suzette Strauss.
A special "ank You" to our chefs, Ric Strauss, and Larry
Smead who served up a delicious BBQ lunch and they certainly
didn't leave the side out… of pickles.
All in all, it was a fun, fitness, friend-zy… lol! Come and join the
club, we'll make you a Pickleballer in no time… I've highlighted
some lingo to get you started. Dinking is when we stand at the
kitchen line and hit the pickleball back and forth just within the
