8 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JUNE 2024 | Casino Royale Congratulations to Casino Royale chairperson, Linda Elliott, co- chair, Robin Rickert, and the crew of volunteers who put together an awesome evening of 'gambling' and socializing. They gathered a (WOW) wall full of prizes for the raffles donated by residents and businesses from Hemet and surrounding areas. Close to 200 residents gambled and won 'thousands' in poker games, blackjack, roulette, and craps. At the end of the evening, $1,100 was donated to My City Youth Hemet. Four Seasons Fourth of July Celebration… Tickets are on sale now! Remember the Fourth of July picnics when it was the American hamburger, hot dog, and cold watermelon 'a plenty,' as a way to celebrate our nation's Independence Day? Additionally, we'll honor all of our military service organizations through a narrative by our own Russ Brown. At $25 per ticket, you'll get all of that plus listening and dancing to music by the American Patriot Band (APB). APB cuts across popular music genre of rock and ballads rolled into a patriotic-themed program that will be welcomed by Four Seasons. West Valley High School Navy ROTC will be assisting in the preparation, clean up, and serving hamburgers and hot dogs. All you need to do is buy your ticket for yourself, and tell your neighbors to join you. On the Fourth, dress in red, white, and blue, and bring your own (non-glass) refreshment and enjoy the festivities. See you on the Fourth. Social Committee It Ain't Easy Being Green The Four Seasons community stands out from other 55+ communities because of the quality and appearance of its landscaping due to the original design, development, and maintenance through the commitment of the Board of Directors, Management, and 1,106 homeowners. It is up to us, and we are doing well. There are two committees that we can thank for this. The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) ensures that homeowners comply with the Landscaping Standards in the Architectural Standards and Regulations, which are available to all homeowners. The Landscape Committee is responsible for ensuring that the landscaping in our common areas is always at its best. Our Board develops an annual plan and budget for landscaping in these areas, which is a significant portion of our total budget. Management and this committee ensure implementation. The trees, other plantings and ground cover in common areas and homeowner lots must follow prescribed guidelines, mostly defined when the community was developed, but modified over time to reflect changing trends and climate conditions. If you are planning any landscape changes, it is essential that you review the standards, consult Maria Donti, our architectural support staff and prepare and submit an application for approval, BEFORE you make any changes. Not following this procedure may prove very costly. Trees are a very important part of our community, both in our common areas and at your home. The original design of Four Seasons had specific plans for the location and kind of trees and plantings. Over the years, we respected this design, while seeking to beautify and improve the life of trees. Your trees and other plants should be properly trimmed and maintained. All tree planting and removal, whether in the front or back yard, is subject to approval of the ARC and replacement may be required. The approved plant/tree list can be obtained at The Lodge. Maintaining and improving the landscaping of our common areas and homes is extremely important to increasing our home value and our enjoyment of this beautiful place. Thank you for doing your part.
