FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2024 15
DID YOU MISS IT?
I Had a Dream … e Four Seasons of
Menopause … A few years ago I went to the
theater with some Four Seasons friends and
we saw the Broadway show Menopause. We
all thought it was hysterical and I dreamed
I could put on the comedy at Four Seasons.
I asked my best friend, Roberta Hokuf, to
help me with the dialog and directing the
show. So, we got together and started writing.
Then the world stopped for the pandemic
and I became ill and the show was put on the
back burner for awhile.
When I got well and the world opened back
up, Roberta and I got together again to
write the rest of the skits. Oh, the laughs
and giggles we shared. We even asked our
husbands to look at the dialog and "man it
up." I worked on getting the music ready
and with the Performing Arts Club backing
auditions were Jan. 7 and our first read-
through after the cast was selected was Jan.
21.
Since then it has been long Sunday afternoon
rehearsals and more rehearsals on Monday,
Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons working
on music, blocking, and movements onstage.
What sets would we have? Well, something
that looked like Four Seasons Lodge, of
course.
All the cast and crew worked so hard to get
their parts ready. On May 3 and 4, thanks
to all the devoted actors and crew members,
my dream did come true. I am thankful
for everyone who helped make this show a
success. ~ Barbara Wasco
