Majestic Asset Management: The judge determined the motion for attorney fees from the Fraudulent Conveyance was related to the judgments back in 2023 and 2015. A new hearing has been set for May 29, 2024 to re-submit the request for $500,000 in attorney fees. Golf Course Update: The golf course net sales are up 14.6% month-to-date and 15.7% year-to-date. Rounds are up 11% month-to-date and 22% year-to-date. The golf course achieved a net operating income of over $8,000, which will reduce their subsidy requests. Coupon Booklets: Effective May 1, 2025 fiscal year, the HOA will no longer provide coupon booklets. Members who wish to continue using them will be required to pay a small annual fee. Monthly Assessment Payments: Members are encouraged to mail their assessment payments rather than bring them to the HOA Office. 2025 Opt-In to Receive Official HOA Notifications Electronically (Paperless Environment): The Association is currently working on a process to give members the option to opt-in to receive their official HOA notifications electronically. Members will continue to receive their Colony News magazine if they select this option. Aging Wisely Event: On June 27 at 10 am, the HOA will be hosting a classroom event called "Aging Wisely." The City of Murrieta will be educating the membership on Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Long-Term Care options, Home Care, Assisted Living and what documents you should provide to the HOA office for a smooth transition for your family should you become incapacitated or pass away. Flag Day June 14, Veterans Pinning Ceremony: This ceremony and a continental breakfast will be held in the Clubhouse lounge on June 14. Colony Veterans will be honored and receive a certificate and pin for their service. Veterans in the community are encouraged to attend and register with the Activities Director, Kara Hardy. 2024 Annual Election, Call for Board Candidates: In the May Colony News magazine, there will be a Call for Board Candidates applications for the 2024 Annual Election. The deadline for applications to be received by the Inspectors of Election is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024. Approval of the February 2024 Treasurer's Report: Approved as presented. Total Operating and Reserve Liabilities and Equity: $5,208,000. April 2024 Golf Couse Subsidy Request: Approved golf course subsidy in the amount of $11,833. Approval of Lien Account #00242-8680: Authorized Witkin & Neal to lien Account #00242-8680 due to delinquent assessments exceeding $1,800or 12 months delinquent. Review of Estate Sale Rule Amendments, 28-Day Member Comment – Tabled: Tabled approval to incorporate wording which would allow the staging of cars offsite at the Nutmeg gate. Article 8 – Fines and Penalties Rule Amendments: Approved for 28-Day Member Comment. The rule amendments will be published in the June Colony News magazine and presented for adoption at the August meeting. 2.1 Pool Hours, Final Adoption: Approved 2.1 Pool Hours amendment as presented. Amendment will be mailed to the membership within 15 days. 2.1.12 Food and Drinks in Pool Area, Final Adoption: Approved as presented. The rule amendments will be mailed to the membership within 15 days. Farmers Market Update: Management researched holding a farmer's market at The Colony for its residents. After speaking with the City of Murrieta's Planning Department, management learned that a single-day permit is required for sales, and the City is not currently accepting applications for farmer's markets. Therefore, the Board ruled to forego pursuing this project. 17.3 Painting and Definitions Rule Amendments: Approved minor grammatical changes. The changes are in-house corrections and do not require member comment. EPC Communications, Video: Authorized CATCOM to help create an Emergency Preparedness Advisory Committee video to help better educate residents on what EPC does for the community with oversight by General Manager Jim Morgan. 2024 Interior Holiday Décor: Approved Inside Plants' proposal in the amount of $5,742. 2024 Exterior Holiday Lighting: Approved California Christmas estimate #3466 in the amount of $2,950. Approval of Inspectors of Election Proposal: Approved proposal to prepare, tabulate and host the 2024 "Virtual" annual election at a cost of $7,429. Ratify Earthquake Insurance, LaBarre/Oksnee: Ratified the Earthquake Annual Premium as prepared by LaBarre/ Oksnee in the amount of $17,473.11, which brings the 2024-2025 Insurance Renewal package to a total cost of $102,092.11.
