TOMO HAMASAKI MARY YOTTER Walkers & Hikers Club Under the presidency of Alinda Giansiracusa and the support of her board — Janet Congel, Gerry Livsey, Herb Livsey, Lori Smith, Kannan Dan, Rich Halkyard, Marla Reiter, Ron Lyon, and Sharon Gerson — the Walkers/Hikers Club continues to create change, and numbers of walkers and hikers have grown with the changes. Early May, during a weekend Board Meeting, a number of concerns and additions were discussed. With several people collaborating, a Club logo was designed and accepted; a late summer party as discussed, but most importantly, a June and July schedule of walks and hikes were formed. Very late May, a walk at the Buena Vista Loop is scheduled, an enjoyable walk close by. en Sat., June 8, a walk at the Trestles Beach Trail in San Clemente with lunch at the Fisherman at the San Clemente pier is one of our most popular walks. For the Buena Vista walk, we will meet at the overflow parking lot at 10 am; for the short trip up to the Trestles, we will meet at 8:30 am at the overflow parking lot. If you are interested in improving strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and overall body conditioning, then you may want to consider attending an aerobics class to see if it fits your needs. is is an all standing low impact class… NO JUMPING! e instructor leads each class in a warm up session followed by the aerobic portion, and then she does a cool down. Light weights are used for the last 10 minutes of the class. Occasionally there are a few exercises for balance and an easy dance for fun. Classes are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in Abravanel Hall from 10 to 11 am with instructor Christine Alesiani. You can choose the number of classes each week that you would like to attend. (ere is no class available on the second Wednesday of each month.) e cost is $5 per class paid directly to the instructor.
