| LIFE IN SOLERA | JUNE 2024 | 25 This group is made up of generally men, but women are always welcome. Our focus is on conversation and friendship. We meet every Wednesday in the Clubhouse between 8 and 9 am in the Arts & Crafts Room. It is typically a group of 10 to 20 people. We are led by a facilitator who ensures that everyone will have the opportunity to talk and encourages conversation. We have very interesting and diverse conversations. There are countless benefits you'll enjoy by joining this group, and they can vary from person to person. Come and check us out, and feel free to bring your favorite coffee mug! COFFEE GROUP Our May event was a wine tasting, one of two 'wine focused' events we had planned for the year. It was hosted by Shawn Klezovich from Gerrards Market in Redlands. We tasted nine different wines; one sparkling, three whites and five reds. We thank Shawn and Gerrard's for putting on a very nice tasting event. The other wine event will be in November when we blind taste wines and have a little fun grading them. This usually ends up with surprise results. Our June event is sure to be popular and well attended. It will be a bocce ball tournament along with a free box dinner for members. This free event is one of several ways we "give back" the membership dues paid by joining Solera Sippers. Several other events throughout the year are partially subsidized by the club…in other words, we don't charge members the full amount of what a given event would cost to put on. The membership dues collected by the club makes up the difference in price. So, being a member of Solera Sippers does have its perks through your membership fees. It's not too late to get in on the fun. Our membership year is April 1 through March 30 of the following year. Membership is required if you are a Solera resident.
